Congratulations to our competition winners! It was a tough contest with hundreds of entries and we have had many excellent designs and creative ideas. Our winners can be proud of their achievement!
The evening also gave us the opportunity to showcase the community’s contributions, video interviews and podcasts, all accessible on to investigate on our digital map here. We also had our new community map on display.
We had some lovely feedback from our participants, too:
“I feel pleased and proud! St Thomas community is unique and supports people in unique ways. St Thomas folk make a difference.”
“Really lovely that the time has been taken to create the map of St Thomas. I have lived in St Thomas all of my life – loved seeing in particular the children’s postcards.”
We are pleased to announce that we are launching the next phase of Proud to Be! With funding from Exeter City Council and additional funding from Creative Arc, we will be looking at roots and routes in St Thomas. Look out for more news and subscribe to our newsletter here.
… we have created a few special items displaying our community art work. You can now buy a Mincinglake & Whipton postcard, put some art on your wall with a poster showing the community map, or use the limited edition tea towel to brighten up your kitchen. Or even better – gift it to someone for Christmas and show everyone how proud you are of where you live! Available in our online shop, at Whipton Hall, Whipton Post Office and the Beacon Centre.
